Primary Care Psychology
Our expert team of behavioral health providers deliver a full range of personalized mental health and behavioral health services to children, teens, adults and their families. Our psychological services in primary care settings use evidence based techniques to address a broad spectrum of concerns and life stages. Examples include but are not limited to stress, sleep problems, anxiety, depression, weight issues, trauma, substance misuse, early psychosis, smoking cessation, developmental issues, ADHD, mood, menses and menopause, women’s sexual health, acute, chronic and life threatening physical conditions, infertility, families navigating pregnancy complications and high-risk infants, loss, and complexities of life struggles and transitions. We recognize that there is no “one size fits all” approach and adapt our recommendations and interventions to the age, sex, gender, identity preferences, needs, culture, and social contexts of our patients.
Behavioral health providers offer in-person and virtual behavioral health services to patients who are established with a clinical provider at CHCO pediatric or CU Medicine adult primary care, obstetrics and gynecology, women’s integrated services in health (WISH), or geriatric medicine clinics. Our in-person visits are at the same location where you meet with your PCP. As integrated members of your healthcare team, we offer short term consultation and/or psychotherapy typically ranging from 1 to 8 visits depending on your needs. We use the latest research-supported approaches to teach you new ways of responding to challenges that you can practice in your everyday life. Based on treatment recommendation or patient preference, we also can refer individuals to other behavioral health providers in our health system or the community for ongoing care.
