Learn MoreCardio-oncology
Cardio-oncology is an emerging field in cardiology focused on the cardiovascular management of patients with cancer. Established in 2014, the cardio-oncology program at the University of Colorado is the only one in the region led by a fellowship trained cardio-oncologist. We manage all aspects of cardio-oncology care surrounding solid and hematologic malignancies including cell transplant, pregnancy, childhood cancer survivorship, and adult survivorship.
A National Cancer Institute-designated cancer center, the University of Colorado Cancer Center is a leader in phase I clinical trials which makes practicing and learning cardio-oncology at the University of Colorado a unique and exciting experience. In addition to a robust clinical program, we are involved in several cardio-oncology research studies including the multi-institutional study, Understanding and Predicting Breast Cancer Events After Treatment (UPBEAT), and institutional studies focused on immunotherapy, exercise in patients with cancer, and the cardiovascular effects of lymphoma treatment.
