Cardiothoracic Anesthesia
Our team consists of cardiothoracic anesthesiologists who are all fellowship-trained and board-certified in Advanced Perioperative Echocardiography. They provide anesthesia for a range of cardiac, major vascular and thoracic procedures. We are a referral center for complex aortic surgery, including acute aortic dissections, aneurysms and traumatic aortic injuries. We work closely with our cardiac and vascular surgeons and provide expert anesthetic management and transesophageal echocardiography (TEE). We also work seamlessly with our interventional cardiologists, radiologists and surgeons in a variety of minimally invasive procedures.
Our thoracic surgery service performs complex surgeries for patients with cancer, autoimmune and infectious etiologies and is a major referral center for airway reconstruction surgeries. Our cardiothoracic anesthesiologists specialize in providing anesthesia for these complex thoracic surgeries, as well as current therapies for pain management and enhanced recovery strategies. In addition, we provide anesthesia care for patients in the adult catheterization laboratories. This includes electrophysiology studies, radiofrequency ablations, implantable device placements, and angioplasty/stenting procedures for congenital heart anomalies. We are also available on a consult basis for management of non-cardiothoracic surgeries for patients with congenital heart disease and pulmonary hypertension. Our fellowship-trained team of Cardiothoracic Anesthesiologists specialize in the management of an array of cardiac, major vascular and thoracic procedures. We offer individualized care for each patient to ensure best possible outcomes.
Our services include; preoperative evaluation and consultation, invasive monitoring, hemodynamic optimization, advanced perioperative transesophageal echocardiography, management of cardiopulmonary bypass, total circulatory arrest, postoperative care following cardiac, vascular or thoracic surgery, and intraoperative transesophageal echocardiography (TEE). Our experienced providers also bring years of expertise in the management of patients for heart and lung transplantation, ventricular assist device placement and airway and esophageal resections.
