Clinical Interest for Patients
I enjoy caring for the breadth of plastic and reconstructive surgery patients and provide head to toe surgical care. I have specialized training in cancer reconstruction and managing complex cancer and non-cancer surgical problems that require specialized surgical techniques using a patient's own tissue for reconstruction, called microsurgery or free flap reconstruction. I have a particular interest in breast reconstruction using tissue from the abdomen and/or thighs, nipple areolar complex preserving reconstructive options, sensory reconstruction, and optimizing aesthetic outcomes in reconstructive surgery. I also provide surgical options to reduce the risk of lymphedema or for treatment of lymphedema in patients who have developed lymphedema as part of their cancer treatment.

Research Interests for Patients
My research interests are in optimizing outcomes for patients undergoing breast reconstruction with autologous tissue or implants. I have published studies related to autologous reconstruction in special populations, nipple-areola complex reconstruction and preservation, aesthetic outcomes and patient satisfaction, and reconstruction with radiation. Additionally, I am interested in evaluating and teaching how surgeons can improve patient outcomes through efficiency in the operating room.
