Clinical Interest for Patients
I provide clinical and behavioral health services and assessments within the Down Syndrome Behavioral Health Collaborative Clinic and the Pediatric Oral Feeding Clinic. My research focuses on advancing behavioral assessment methods for children with Down syndrome, evaluating the efficacy of innovative toilet training interventions, and enhancing existing standardized tools to improve the assessment, treatment, and overall quality of life for individuals with Down syndrome and their families. I approach clinical practice and scholarship through a DEIJ (Diversity, Equity, Inclusion, and Justice) framework, with an emphasis on improving access to and reducing barriers in behavioral health services. My interests center on the development and application of evidence-based best practices for assessing and intervening with children who present with complex conditions, including comorbidities related to special healthcare needs, psychiatric diagnoses, cognitive and developmental disabilities, and diverse characteristics. This specialized approach aims to address the unique clinical needs of these children and their families.
Care Philosophy
I am dedicated to providing comprehensive, patient-centered care for children with Down syndrome and their families. I take a holistic approach to treatment, considering every aspect of a child's health—physical, behavioral, and developmental—when diagnosing and planning interventions. By addressing the full spectrum of needs, I aim to deliver personalized care that supports both the child and their family, fostering optimal health outcomes and improving overall well-being.
