Research & Grants

Research Interests for Patients

My clinical interests are in leveraging patients' existing or transplanted immune system to treat pediatric and young adult cancers. This dovetails with my research interests, which are primarily focused on: (1) profiling and understanding the immune microenvironment of pediatric malignancies; and (2) improving our understanding of how we harness, optimize and drive an augmented immune system after transplant to treat cancer.

Clinical Interests for Referring Providers

My clinical and research interests are in leveraging cell transplant and immune effector cells to treat pediatric cancers.

Research Interest for Referring Providers

My aim as a clinical-translational investigator is to leverage expertise in immunology, cell and tissue engineering and pediatric oncology toward the design and implementation of early and late phase clinical trials centered on cellular and immuno-oncology therapeutics for pediatric and young adult oncology patients so that they may better survive and thrive. My clinical and translational research focuses on developing, implementing and refining cell transplant (SCT) and immune effector cell (IEC) therapies in collaboration with basic scientists and translating novel therapeutic strategies that promote optimal immune reconstitution and function for improving relapse-free survival and long term cure for children with malignancies, marrow failure and disorders of immunity (including discovering biomarkers, applying correlative studies, and evaluating outcomes).
