Clinical Interest for Patients
I am a primary eye care provider at the UCHealth Eye Center, which is part of the University of Colorado School of Medicine Department of Ophthalmology. This year marks my thirty-sixth year in practice! I enjoy providing eye and vision care to individuals with ocular health issues ranging from ocular muscle misalignment treatable with glasses to those with diabetes (especially those who need more education about the impact of the disease on the eyes). I regularly see patients who are developing cataracts to individuals suffering from vision issues related to a movement disorder, such as Parkinson's disease. I provide vision and eye health assessment in collaboration with neuro-ophthalmologist, Victoria Pelak, MD, in a specialty clinic devoted to individuals with movement disorders. I make every effort to help my patients understand their eyes and visual function.
Care Philosophy
Listen to and learn from the patient. Provide focused education for each individual about their eyes and vision.

Clinical Interests for Referring Providers
I am a primary eye care provider within the ophthalmology department. I enjoy providing eye and vision care to individuals with issues ranging from ocular muscle misalignment treatable with glasses and those with challenging spectacle needs to those with diabetes (especially those who need more education about the impact of the disease on the eyes) and patients developing cataracts. I try to take an extra few minutes to provide the patient with education about their eyes. I also participate in a referral only neuro-ophthalmology specialty clinic for individuals suffering from vision issues as a result of a movement disorder, such as Parkinson's disease. If you have an individual who is experiencing visual issues related to a movement disorder (often difficulty with reading is one of these), create a referral to neuro-ophthalmology and it will be reviewed and targeted to the provider who can best serve the patient. We give these patients extra time in the schedule since their needs can be great.
