Refinement of an Advance Care Planning (ACP) Group Medical Visit to Enhance ACP Engagement and Implementation (2015)

Research Interests for Patients

I want to help older adults and their families be able to express their preferences for future care with confidence. I am developing a new clinical visit called the Advance Care Planning Group Visit to help with this.

Research Interest for Referring Providers

My clinical work as a primary care geriatrician and palliative medicine physician informs my research on advance care planning (ACP) for older adults and their family members. My current research focuses on developing, testing and implementing a novel ACP Group Visit intervention that engages patients in a supportive group discussion to promote ACP discussions and documentation of preferences.
