Care Philosophy
Dr. Acharya has been practicing since 2005. She is board certified in both Hematology and Oncology. Dr. Acharya has an emphasis in breast, GI and GU cancers and is well versed in all areas of hematology and oncology. She has a strong motivation to care for patients and focuses on their desires and goals. She tailors her treatment plans to the goals of the individual patient and values quality of life above all. She believes in honest and open communication and educating her patients but ultimately allows her patients to choose for oneself based on their values and belief system. Dr. Acharya prides herself in being up to date on the cutting edge of technology. One of her main reasons for being part of the UC Health system is to blend the benefits of a university based system and its resources with the comfort of a community location. This doctor is obviously smart and knows medicine. She came across as somewhat condescending. My husband commented that this provider was just checking boxes. After reading her notes, I believe the provider is just very methodical and may not be as "warm" as some other providers.
Dr. Acharya is the best! Personable, knowledgeable, and an excellent listener willing to take all the time I needed to have my concerns answered.
Dr Acharya has been a wonderful and caring doctor. Couldn't have had anyone better.
Dr Acharya always listens attentively and responds with positive actions and empathy. I feel she is the warrior angel that I need on my side to fight this cancer. I would hate to lose her as my doctor. Her whole staff is supportive, cheerful and attentive. They, also, listen carefully and with an open heart.
The doctor is very aware of my situation and I feel she values me and my health. Even when on vacation and I am in the hospital, she took time out of her day to confer with the hospital staff to ensure I was receiving good care.
