At the Hemophilia and Thrombosis Center, we offer both acute care and comprehensive clinic visits specialized in the diagnosis and treatment of bleeding and clotting disorders.
Our multidisciplinary team is passionate about working with all our patients to equip them and their families with strategies and tools to successfully manage their conditions.
What We Treat
Hemophilia and Bleeding Disorders
Hemophilia refers to a group of hereditary genetic disorders that impact a person's ability to effectively stop bleeding after injury. Treatments are available to manage this disorder.
Thrombosis and Clotting Disorders
Thrombosis is a genetic disorder that causes blood to clot more than normal, which may lead to increased pressure on the heart, lungs and even stroke.
Treatment Approach
At the Hemophilia and Thrombosis Center, our specialized providers work with patients and their families to find the best medications, therapies and support to live an active life. This treatment approach includes many facets, such as physical therapy and social work to provide rehabilitation and counseling throughout treatment.
Our priority is helping our patients understand that these types of conditions are treatable as research works on finding a cure.
Care Team
Our team works with patients caring for both their physical and mental needs.
Physical Therapy
An important part of treatment, our physical therapy team works with patients to prevent and treat muscle and joint issues. We emphasize healing through consistency, no matter how small and simple the exercise is.
Social Work Services
Treatment is not just physical. Our social work team provides care, services and resources unique to the patient. They are here to assist in diagnosis and illness-related coping through the patient’s life.
Genetic Counseling
Bleeding disorders can often be the result of a genetic condition. The Hemophilia and Thrombosis Center offers genetic counseling services that serve as an opportunity to identify, understand and treat families with genetic blood conditions. Our genetic counselors work with you to provide compassionate one-on-one care and education.
Hemophilia and Thrombosis Pharmacy
Our clinic also offers a federally qualified 340B pharmacy. Our goal is to provide the lowest cost factor when supplying medications, infusions and equipment to patients. The pharmacy can be reached at 303-724-0168.
