Patient Recognition Week 2025

Patient Recognition week runs annually from February 1-7. It's a time to celebrate our patients and reflect on our patient-centered care philosophy.

The first week of February marks the commencement of Patient Recognition week, a time to honor our patients and reflect on CU Medicine's commitment to exceptional patient care.

Robert Shane Knepshield, MD from CU Medicine Family Medicine — Park Meadows

He absolutely listens and discusses your situation in terms you can understand. Very passionate about making you want to participate in your health. When you leave the appointment, you know everything about your condition and wanting to ensure you take the best possible care of yourself.

Leslie Appiah, MD from CU Medicine Gynecology — Cherry Creek

Dr. Appiah was very warm and personable. She asked me questions and listened to my answers. She took the time with me to understand my background and what some of my issues were that brought me in to see her. And I felt like it was a very thorough appointment in terms of establishing a good relationship and establishing trust and also responding in a reasonable way with a care plan as well as with a follow-up plan. I thought the appointment was really great and I look forward to continuing to have Dr. Appiah take care of me.

Elise Hiza, MD from CU Medicine Orthopedics — Broomfield

Dr. Hiza is awesome. She listens to your concerns and then addresses them appropriately. Always cares about the entire body not just the area where surgery took place. She is making sure that everything is working in harmony. Once again, she's awesome.

Julian Winocour, MD from CU Medicine Plastic and Reconstructive Surgery - Highlands Ranch Specialty Care Center

My husband and I trust, respect and like Dr. Winocour very much. He listens to us carefully and he works hard to provide the care we need from him, all while being friendly, caring, professional and committed to high quality care. He's a star in our view!

Abigail Diem, PA-C from CU Medicine Dermatology - Montview (CU Medicine Building)

Abigail Diem THOROUGHLY addressed ALL my concerns and provided options to me regarding treatment(s). Very professional, very caring and very cordial!

Paul Maroni, MD from CU Medicine Urology and Urologic Oncology - South Denver Highlands Ranch Specialty Care Center

After I was diagnosed with prostate cancer, I saw a radiation specialist and a prostate surgeon. I then went to Dr. Maroni and he suggested a procedure that no other doctor even mentioned. It is less invasive and more risk-free and (has an) easier recovery. He was very understanding and explained everything in detail. He spent over an hour with me and at my mind at ease. Thanks to him and his staff I have a better outcome than I expected.
