Clinical Interest for Patients
I see the full spectrum of musculoskeletal and autoimmune diseases seen by Rheumatologists. My primary areas of focus that align with my research interests include patients with inflammatory forms of arthritis ( example, rheumatoid arthritis and psoriatic arthritis), osteoarthritis, and vasculitis (ANCA-associated vasculitis, giant cell arteritis, polyarteritis nodosa, leukocytoclastic vasculitis, etc).
Care Philosophy
I work closely with my patients to develop a shared diagnostic work-up and treatment plan.

Clinical Interests for Referring Providers
I see patients with a wide variety of musculoskeletal and autoimmune diseases. My research focus has been on new treatments for rheumatoid arthritis, osteoarthritis, vasculitis, and seronegative spondyloarthropies such as psoriatic arthritis and ankylosing spondylitis. I have a research interest in defining mechanism of disease and biomarkers of disease activity. My recent NIH funded research has focused on comparative effectiveness studies as well as development of longitudinal disease registries. I am a Rheumatologist and am a faculty member in the Division of Rheumatology. I have a secondary faculty appointment in the Department of Orthopedic Surgery. I am Director of a newly created interdisciplinary joint biology program.
Research Interest for Referring Providers
My research interests have focused on new therapies for autoimmune and musculoskeletal disorders. I am a clinical trialist, translational researcher who has had extensive collaborations with basic researchers. Also, much of my funded research has been for elucidating mechanisms of disease and biomarkers to better define the heterogenous autoimmune diseases. An overarching goal is to develop ways to better target treatments to disease pathways, i.e. precision medicine.
